# How much do dating apps cost in 2026?

The strangest thing about dating site prices is that, officially, most of them don't exist. What the tiers commonly cost, why your price isn't your friend's price — and the number the industry tells investors instead.

[eharmony reveals its price after you finish the quiz](https://www.eharmony.com/tour/eharmony-cost/). The number you'll pay is generated for you, once the app knows who's asking.

So this page does two honest things: it collects the commonly reported 2026 figures, clearly labeled as snapshots rather than quotes, and then explains why your price may differ from every number below.

Read the table as monthly rates for a single month. Every app on it discounts longer commitments, so a twelve-month term typically lands well below the figure shown — and eharmony's roughly halves.

Those third-party figures come from 2026 buyer guides rather than the companies, because the companies won't say. Treat every number as a range with a confidence interval, and every “starting at” as doing heavy lifting.

## App by app, and what moves the number

- **Tinder** — three tiers (Plus, Gold, Platinum), commonly reported around $25, $40 and $50 a month. Term length and platform both move it; the tier page lists features and no prices.
- **Hinge** — Hinge+ around $30, HingeX around $50 a month, shown only at checkout. Longer terms cut the monthly rate substantially.
- **Bumble** — Premium commonly reported from about $30 a month, with Boost sold as a cheaper separate tier and packs priced per bundle. Bumble's own support page says costs vary by tier, duration and pack.
- **Match** — sold as 1-, 3-, 6- and 12-month terms rather than a monthly sticker, priced inside the account.
- **eharmony** — roughly $36 to $66 a month depending entirely on term length; the twelve-month term is about half the monthly rate of the short one.
- **Bean** — $3.99 a month, published, identical for everyone.

## Why your price isn't your friend's price

In 2022, [Mozilla and Consumers International mystery-shopped Tinder Plus across six countries](https://www.mozillafoundation.org/en/blog/new-research-tinders-opaque-unfair-pricing-algorithm-can-charge-users-up-to-five-times-more-for-same-service/). They found up to 31 different prices in a single country for the identical product, with older users quoted as much as five times more — and nobody told what determined their number. Tinder [phased out age-based pricing](https://www.mozillafoundation.org/en/blog/tinders-pricing-algorithm-remains-opaque/) after publication; the broader opacity stayed.

Length of commitment moves the number most — twelve months of eharmony costs roughly half the monthly rate of six. Platform matters too: app store checkouts and web checkouts can carry different fees. The price isn't printed on the box, because the box knows who's asking.

## What people actually pay

The most reliable number in this whole category comes from an unlikely place: investor reports. [Match Group told shareholders](https://ir.mtch.com/investor-relations/news-events/news-events/news-details/2026/Match-Group-Announces-Fourth-Quarter-and-Full-Year-Results/) its average payer spent $20.09 a month across 2025 — across Tinder, Hinge, Match and the rest of its portfolio. Half the sticker price of the top tiers. Most payers evidently buy the cheapest tier, a short promo, or a discounted bundle.

Total dating spend is murkier. The most-quoted survey, [LendingTree's, from 2020](https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/lendingtree-study-reveals-americans-spend-nearly-700-on-dating-a-year-301004328.html), put it near $700 a year, but that covered dinners and drinks, not subscriptions, and nobody has repeated it with a subscription-only breakout since. The data here is thin, and we'd rather tell you that than invent a precise-sounding number.

## How to pay less and get more

- Never buy one month at sticker price — every app in the table discounts longer terms and runs promos constantly.
- Check the web checkout against the app store checkout. Different fees, sometimes different prices.
- Know what you're buying: [about 35% of users have paid](https://www.pewresearch.org/internet/2023/02/02/from-looking-for-love-to-swiping-the-field-online-dating-in-the-u-s/) (Pew, 2023), and the happiest payers bought signal, filters and visibility with serious people, rather than raw volume.
